Darlene Cox Drummond, a resident of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, departed this life, Sunday, August 11, 2013, at home, with her family by her side.
She was born on, July 15, 1953, in Salinas, California, the daughter of Jerrel and Dorothy Mae Kennedy Murphy.
She married Mr. William Gerald Drummond on January 12, 2010.
She was of the Baptist faith, but was attending the Gateway Fellowship Church of God. She was an RN, working for Three Rivers Nursing Center in Marked Tree, before retiring. She was a work-aholic who enjoyed, shopping, flea markets, antique shops, riding around looking at the scenery and listening to the coyotes howl. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Drummond was preceded in death by her father, and one brother: Jerry Darrel Murphy.
Darlene is survived by her Mother: Dorothy Murphy of McCrory, Arkansas, husband: Gerald Drummond of the home, son: Brandon Cox and wife Rhoa of Wynne, Arkansas, daughter: Stephanie Midgett and husband Darrell of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, four brothers: Dennis Murphy of Cherry Valley, Arkansas, Danny Murphy of Searcy, Arkansas, Randy Murphy of Forrest City, Arkansas, Randall Murphy of McCrory, Arkansas, and seven grandchildren: Dillon Douglas, Corgie Taylor, Brady Taylor, Lindsey Pearson, Jarrett Pearson, Lacie Pearson and Allie Cox.
Funeral services were at the Thompson Wilson Wynne Funeral Home. Interment was in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at Birdeye.
