Ernest Joseph "Butch" Neissl Sr, delivered by his grandfather, Dr W M Neissl, Sr, was born November 25, 1918 in Charleston, Arkansas to the late Hans Joseph & Ruth Anne Foster-Minden Neissl, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Ernest was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Theresa Lee Gann Neissl; 5 brothers, Harold, Hans Edward (Tuts), Billy Paul & wife Norma Dean, Robert & wife Dorothy, & Joe Allen Neissl; 1 sister, Elphie Mae; 1 brother-in-law, Joe Price; 1 niece, Alena Marie Price Porter; 1 son-in-law, Michael J Wilhelm & 1 granddaughter-in-law, Laurie Logsdo)Wilhelm.
Ernest was an active lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Charleston. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School & Charleston High School. Ernest was a World War II Army veteran, serving thirty six months in North Africa. After military service, he was a civil service employee at Fort Chaffee, positions included meat foreman & Entomologist. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Amercan Legion, Knights of Columbus, charter member of the Charleston Riding Club, lifetime butcher, meat cutter & horse & cattle rancher, avid sportsman, & loved his family & friends. He s survived by his daughters, Barbara Ruth Willhelm of Berryville, Arkansas & Mary Theresa Kendall and husband Richard of Leavenworth, Kansas; his son, Ernest J (EJ) Neissl, Jr and wife Kelly of Charleston; his sister-in-law, Levena Sue Neissl of Charleston; 13grandchildren, Andrew, Hans, Dr Paul, Rosalee, & Tobias Wilhelm, Brian & Jason Strickland, Cory, Rich, Raymond, & Nicholas Kendall, Lindsey Neissl McConnell & Ethan Neissl; 20 great-grandchildren & numerous nieces & nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Neissl, Paul Neissl, Bobby Lee Neissl, Shawn Lovett, Gary Smith, and Raymond Kendall.Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Andrew J, Hans M, and Dr Paul G Neissl, Rosalee & Tobias J Wilhelm, Brian & Jason Strickland, Cory, Rich, Raymond, & Nicholas Kendall & Lindsey Neissl McConnell & Ethan Neissl, & nephew-in-law, Jerry "Tudy" Loughridge.
