Mrs. Judy Kelso Borden, age 73, of Colt, died Friday, Nov. 3, 2017, at her home in Colt. Her death came suddenly and unexpectedly.
Mrs. Borden was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Wynne, and was the daughter of Jim Kelso and Hazel Gardner Kelso. She lived in St. Francis County most of her life, was retired from the Forrest City School District Child Nutrition Services, and was a member of the New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Borden married Edgar William Borden Jr., in 1961, and he preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her father, Jim Kelso; one brother, Ricky Kelso; her grandmother, India Matlock; and a brother-in-law, Junior Adamson.
She is survived by two sons, Buddy Borden, and wife, Toni, of Colt, and Justin Marquis, and wife, Jenna, of Jonesboro; two daughters, Debbie Marquis and Krystal Borden, both of Colt; her mother, Hazel Kelso of Forrest City; five grandchildren, Meredith Peeler, and husband, Joseph, Madison Hill, and Cade Crippen, all of Colt, Megan Meredith of Forrest City, and Katie Amos, and husband, T.J., of Wynne; five great-grandchildren; Callie, Kinsley, and Greyson Marquis, of Jonesboro, and Praylie and Audrey Peeler, of Colt; one brother, Rodney Kelso, and wife, Anne, of Forrest City; three sisters, Brenda Adamson of Forrest City, Pam Harris, and husband, Grady, of St. Louis, and Stephanie Hutcherson, and husband, Don, of Paragould; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Stevens Funeral Home. Services for Mrs. Borden will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, Wednesday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m., with burial in Loughridge Cemetery.
