CAVE CITY - Erma Cennler Smith, 80, of Cave City, died Sunday, Feb. 17, 2002, at a local hospital.
Born April 5, 1921, in Sharp County, she was the daughter of Albert and Sireptia McGinnis Turner. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount View Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John William Smith of Batesville and Jerry Mack Smith of Cave City; three daughters, Willa Mae Runyan of Cave City, Alla Mae Lantz of Jonesboro and Jeanie Lindsey of Charlotte; a brother, Cicero Turner of Charlotte; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Newton Smith; five sisters, Ottie Shirley, Locie Tracy, Lillian Turner, Allie Mobley and Ellar McCrackin; and four brothers, Coolie Turner, Sid Turner and two infant brothers.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mount View Missionary Baptist Church in Cave City with Gary Hartley officiating. Burial will be at Mount View Cemetery under the direction of Roller-Crouch-McGee Funeral Home of Cave City.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Rodney Lindsey, David Lantz, Samuel Lantz, Phillip Lantz, Thomas John Smith and Wayne Smith.
