John Lee Harvey, was born June 9, 1953 in Blackwell, Arkansas. He was the son of Emma Jean Taylor. He grew up in the town of Blackwell and graduated from Morrilton High School in 1971. After High School he enlisted in the Air Force and served for 8 years. While in the Air Force, stationed in Okinawa, he met Chinmei Chin. They married, John brought her back to the states, they settled down in Las Vegas, and together had a daughter by the name of Theresa. They remained married for some years and then John and Theresa came back to his native Arkansas where he found work as the assistant manager at the Save-A-Sum Grocery Store in the town of Atkins. John was a long time employee of the Save-A-Sum store and enjoyed the Atkins community. He retired from the store due to his disabilities and relocated to Petit Jean Mountain where he assisted in the care of his aging mother. After his mother passed away in 1998, John remained a resident of Petit Jean Mountain where he lived surrounded by his family. When his daughter’s family relocated to Petit Jean Mountain in 2004, John became an active part in their household and very involved in the care of his grand-daughters, whom he loved dearly.

John Harvey was 55 years old. He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Bertram and Husband Ray Bertram, his grand-daughters Emma and Wendy Bertram, his sisters Mary Mooney-Stroud of Atkins and Mona Simmons of Petit Jean Mountain, and a large extended family. Local arrangements by Lemley Funeral Service a
service will be at a later date.
