Edward Lee “Buddy” Boyd, 80, of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018, in Paris. He was born August 21, 1937, in Paris to Calmar and Wilba Lee Edmondson Boyd. Buddy retired from the United States Army National Guard after 33 years of service. His civil career was spent as a general contractor specializing in floor refinishing. Buddy also served as a firefighter with the Paris Fire Department where he served as chief the last 10 years of his tenure. In his retirement from the Paris Fire Department he served on the Retired Firefighter’s Board. Buddy was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church in Paris and served as chairman of the Baxley Cemetery Board. He was preceded in death by his parents, Calmar and Wilba Lee Edmondson Boyd; a granddaughter, Rebecca Paige Putz and 2 brothers, Alton and Sam Boyd. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Shirley Mae Willhite Boyd of Paris; 2 daughters, Nancy Putz of Murray, Kentucky and Drew Anne Allen and husband, Rich of Prosper, Texas; 1 son, Britt Boyd and wife, Betty of Tyler, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Blake Boyd and wife, Shannon, Braden Boyd and wife, Andressa, Brace Boyd, Schafer Putz, Garret Putz, Rhett Allen, Anne Drew Allen and Megan Allen and 4 great grandchildren, Eli Boyd, Grant Boyd, Cruz Boyd and Clara Mae Boyd.
