J T Rogers, 92 of Paris, Arkansas passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2016 in Paris. He was born on July 9, 1923 in Greasy Valley to Albert Nathaniel and Daphne Kirkland Rogers.
He was a United State Army Veteran of World War II where he worked as a Mechanic and Truck Driver and had a crucial role in building Burma Road in China and was a member of the 1880 Aviation Engineer Battalion. J T was the owner and operator of J T Rogers Feed, Seed and Fertilizer and was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Paris. J T was always known as a wealth of knowledge, friends and family often consulted with him when they had questions regarding genealogy and any other local history facts and he was always an avid letter writer, he often wrote his military buddies and family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Nathaniel and Daphne Kirkland Rogers; his wife, Catherine Appleton Rogers; one sister, Clarice Redding and two brothers, Ray Rogers and Harold Rogers.He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Rogers Velazquez and husband Rick of Maumelle; his son, James H “Jim” Rogers of Paris; his sister, Rheba Butler of McKinney, Texas; his two brothers, Elmer Rogers of Paris and Bob Rogers of Paris; his grandchildren, Joshua James Rogers and wife Mindee, Tracy Michelle Pool and husband Lieutenant Colonel John Poole, Kara Polk and husand Ryan, Cody James Rogers and wife Kim, Dustin Alford, Lacey Desha Groda and husband Bryan and Jamie C Rogers and his great-grandchildren, Jordin Hamblin, Aden James Rogers, Cooper Polk, Marin Polk, Britton Poole, Everlye Poole, Madelyn Polk, Malia Polk, Autumn Rogers and Lyncoln Groda.
Pallbearers will be Lee McCaulley, Van Rogers, Dave Owen, Frank Rogers, Ronnie Rogers.
