Stephen Greer Kelly, 52, of Bella Vista went to join the Lord Oct. 24, 2005, at Northwest Medical Center of Benton County in Bentonville.
He was born Nov. 25, 1952, in Dallas, Texas, to Jodi Moeller. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hike and fish. He could often be found on the deck by the chiminea drinking his coffee and enjoying the quiet surroundings. He marveled at the beauty of the desert and longed for the smell of the ocean, both of which fueled his passion for travel. In his spare time, he used his tools to transform pieces of wood into treasured gifts and spent time cooking his prized secret recipes for those he loved. He delighted in spending time with his family, talking on the phone with his mom, playing with his grandchildren, or browsing the antique markets with his wife.
He enjoyed listening to Bruce Hornsby, the Beatles, Sting, Johnny Lang, Stevie Ray Vaughan and Aerosmith. He loved watching movies but even more, he enjoyed quizzing his wife on who the singers and actors were. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Maudi Lee and his father, John Kelly.
Survivors include his wife, Carla Jo Kelly of the home; his mother, Jodi Moeller of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Jon Kelly of Bentonville and Stephen Kelly of Texas; one daughter, Caitlin Kelly of Arlington, Texas; two stepsons, James C. Brown and Cameron Brown, both of Bella Vista; one stepdaughter, Chasity Moeller of Searcy; one brother, Tim Kelly of Aurora, Colo.: two sisters, Belinda McKenzie of Aurora and Kayla Alexander of Flower Mound, Texas; eight grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today, Oct. 27 at Sisco Funeral Home in Pea Ridge with Michael McCauley officiating. Burial will be in Buttrams Chapel Cemetery at Pea Ridge.
