December 4, 1892 - August 23, 1965
Mrs. Manie Morrison Crain, 72, widow of Bob Crain, died at her home, 520 W. Eighth St. early Monday after a long illness. Born in Doniphan, Mo., Dec. 4, 1892, the daughter of George and Mary McGill Morrison. Mrs. Crain moved to El Dorado in 1907. She was a member of the First Methodist Church and of the Auxiliary to Post 2413, Veterans of Foreign Wars. She is survived by two sons, Leroy Crain of El Dorado and Paul Crain of Shreveport; one daughter, Miss Lorene Crain of El Dorado; and a brother, L. P. Morrison of Tyler, Tex. Funeral services have been announced for Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Pratt Funeral Home with the Rev. George Tanner officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ben Dumas, Earl Hall, C. A. Lambert, John Warren, Doyle Caplinger, and Charlie Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will include Dr. Jacob Ellis, Dr. Charles Barnes, Dr. A. D. Cathey, Edgar Hall, Raymond Dickbert, John Warren, Doyle Caplesby, C. F. Burleson, O. T. Proctor and members of the VFW Auxiliary. (The El Dorado Times - August 23, 1965)
