Mrs. Alsena Stano Schinks, 78, 527 W. Block St., died Saturday evening in a local hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Schinks was born Oct. 23, 1890, in New Orleans, La., the daughter of Paul and Pauline Blanchard Stano. She has been a resident of El Dorado since 1921 and was a member of the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Her survivors include her husband, Jacob A. Schinks; two sons, Patrick Schinks and Jack Schinks, both of El Dorado; three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Rosary will be said Monday at 8 p.m. at the Rumph Mortuary Chapel and the Requiem Mass be read Tuesday at 10 a.m. by Father Joseph N. Doyle. Burial will be in Arlington Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. The family will be at the Jack Schinks home located at 911 W. Cook St. Pallbearers are Albert Abdella, Harold Pitre, Earl Feeney, Frank Borden, Morris Triolo and C. J. Conner. (El Dorado Times - January 20, 1969)
