September 16, 1911 - April 18, 1970
Mrs. Nellie Pennington Hopkins, 58, of Alycedale died in Ouachita Hospital at 1:30 p.m. Friday. She was a lifelong resident of Ouachita County and a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, W. L. Hopkins; stepmother, Mrs. Florida Griffis of Waldo; one son, Donald D. Goss of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Mrs. Katherine Barner of Little; seven brothers, Henry and Darrell Pennington of Bearden; Junior Pennington of Camden; Emmett Pennington, Magnolia; Eddie Pennington of Waldo; Bert Pennington of Houston; James Pennington of Willisville; six sisters, Mrs. Watson Green of Fordyce; Mrs. Janie Dell Cokes of Taylor; Mrs. Margaret Dickins of Hartford, Ind.; Mrs. Donna Reynolds of Bearden; Mrs. Mary Pate of Waldo; and Mrs. Shirley Williams of Bearden; eight grandchildren, and one great grandchild. Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in Salem Baptist Church with burial in Salem Cemetery by Proctor's Funeral Home. (Camden News - April 18, 1970)
