Virgie Lee Cummings Taylor Bowman, 88, of Camden, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005. She was born April 17, 1916 in Cleveland County in Arkansas. She was the sixth of eight children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew David and Mary E. Slaten Cummings; four brothers; three sisters; husbands, Clyde Robert Taylor and Dorsie L. (Bill) Bowman, Sr.; son, Robert Lee (Bob) Taylor of Camden; and daughter, Roberta L. Taylor DeClue of Camden. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn T. Billingsley and husband, James of Camden; sons, D. L. Bowman, Jr. and wife, Karen of Camden; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She worked in defense plants in the 1940’s and 50’s, then owned and operated several beauty salons for over forty years.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Salem Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
