Martha Virginia Lacy, of Benton, age 90 was joyously welcomed into the arms of her Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, April 25, 2008. Born in Bearden, Arkansas she was saved at an early age and devoted her life to God, her church, and her family. Many lives were changed and touched through her dedication to teaching Sunday school and other tasks at her church. Martha worked several years in the Benton School system as a cook, and then later worked 27 years at Saline Memorial Hospital in the same capacity. She dedicated herself in preparing food for patients and others by never missing a day of work.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Linnie Bell Vaughan and four brothers, Homer, Coby, Pete and Jessie Vaughan.

Missing her smile and love is her husband of 67 years, Randolph Lacy and sister Marguerite Keenan of Benton. She raised her children and passed her Christian principles on to them, daughter, Judy Davis and husband Harrell of Benton, son Jim Lacy and wife Janey of Fayetteville. Grandchildren remembering her are Stephanie McConnell and husband Don of Colleyville, Texas; Jenny Nichols and husband Ted of Benton; Laura Lacy of Fayetteville; David Lacy and wife Abby of Rogers; and Aaron Lacy of Columbus, Ohio. Great-grandchildren are Kallee Nichols of Benton and Lindsey McConnell of Colleyville, Texas.

A celebration of Martha’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, April 28 2008 at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home in Benton. Services will be conducted by Rev. Kim Hammer and Rev. Jason Tallent. Interment will be at Salem Cemetery in Bearden, Arkansas at 2:00 P.M., Monday, April 28, 2008. Serving as pallbearers will be Mike Vaughan, Johnny Vaughan, Carlton Sanders, Don McConnell, Ted Nichols, and Charles Wallace.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 27, 2008 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The family would like to offer special thanks to everyone at Saline Memorial Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Saline Memorial Hospice; #1 Medical Park Drive; Benton, AR 72015.
