Jaxine Dopson Salter, 85, of Wooster, went to be with her Lord on Friday, September 14, 2018. She was born Thursday, December 8, 1932 in Strong, Arkansas to the late Ainsley and Altha Elkins Dopson.

Mrs. Salter had an Associate's Degree in Accounting from Petit Jean VoTech in Morrilton, she was retired from the City of Conway where she served as Municipal Court Clerk. She was an active member of Wooster First Baptist Church. Mrs. Salter was an avid quilter, loved motorcycle and RV traveling and loved taking care of her garden and flower beds and she was a member of the Hall of Fame of Conway Family Bowl. She will be remembered for her ''granny corn'' by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Vernon Gene Salter, Sr.; son, Carlton Douglas Salter; brother, Thomas Dopson; and sisters, Laverne Dopson, Maxine Spruiell and Ann Polk.

Left to cherish her memory are sons, V. Gene Salter, Jr. and wife Susan of Conway and Tony Salter and wife Reda of Conway; daughter, Janie Kimble and husband Keith of Wooster; grandchildren, Nathan (Christina) Salter, Justin Salter, Brent (Ashley) Salter, Jay (Mallory) Salter, Sam Salter, P.J. McFall and Carleigh Kimble; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Julia, Alexander, Sutton, Sterling and Salem Salter.

Family visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2018, 6:00-8:00PM at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Funeral service will be Tuesday, September 18, 2018, 10:00AM at Wooster First Baptist Church with Brother Keith Hicks and Brother Jimmie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wooster First Baptist Church Building Fund or the American Heart Association.

Vernon Salter, 85, of Wooster, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, April 4, 2017. He was born May 6, 1931 in Greenbrier, AR to the late Clarience and Ordeal McMahan Salter. Vernon was also preceded in death by one son, Doug Salter and brother in law, Benny Terry.

Vernon was a Deacon and longtime member of Wooster First Baptist Church. He was a self-employed Master Plumber and Owner of Salter Inc. of Conway. Vernon enjoyed traveling, especially by motorcycle and RV. He also enjoyed visiting and talking with people. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grand-children and great-grandchildren. Vernon was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 65 years, Jaxine Salter, two sons, Gene Salter (Susan) and Tony Salter (Reda), one daughter, Janie Kimble (Keith), sisters, Gwen Manning (Jimmy), Shirley Garrett (Carla), Betty Terry, and Fern Leslie (Donald), grandchildren, Nathan Salter (Christina), Justin Salter, Brent Salter (Ashley), Sam Salter, Jay Salter(Mallory), P.J. McFall, and Carleigh Kimble, great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Julia, Alexander, Sutton, Salem, and Sterling Salter, sister in law, Ann Polk and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm Thursday, April 6th at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway. Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday, April 7th at Wooster First Baptist Church, with Bro. Keith Hicks and Bro. Jimmie Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Wooster. Serving as pallbearers will be Nathan Salter, Justin Salter, Brent Salter, Sam Salter, Jay Salter, P.J. McFall and Carleigh Kimble. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Manning, Donald Leslie, and Carla Garrett.
