Mrs. Alice A. Owen, aged 49, died at her home, Camden, Route 3, early Saturday morning. She was a well-known resident of Ouachita County. Surviving are her father, John A. Barkheimer, Route 3; five daughters, Mrs. James F. Crews, Snyder, Texas, Mrs. Margaret Warnix of El Dorado, Mrs. Georgia Pierce, Benton, and the Misses Mary Lou and Lena Pearl Owen, both of the home; five sons, J.D. Woodland, California, William R., U. S. Army in Germany, John Henry and Dwight, both of Waldo, and Jessie of the home; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Warner-Spur Assembly of God Church, by the Rev. Duel Tanner. Burial followed in Salem Cemetery. Proctor's in charge. (Camden News - January 5, 1948)
