July 16, 1881 - July 8, 1964
Emma Hope Word Pierce, 82, of Louann died Wednesday in a Camden hospital following long illness. Mrs. Pierce was born July 16, 1881 in Pulaski County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Louann. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Langston of Louann and Mrs. Kathryn Ellis of El Dorado; a son, William E. Swan of Kilgore, Tex.; a sister, Mrs. Norton Tompkins of Homer, La., 10 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Pratt Funeral Home. (The El Dorado Times - July 8, 1964)
