Mrs. Anna Mae Alston, 75, of 817 Rock Island St., died Sunday night in a local hospital. Mrs. Alston was the wife of Rev. P. D. Alston of El Dorado. She was born in Columbia, La., on Dec. 25, 1889, and was the daughter of John and Cynthia Faulks. She was a member of the Vantrease Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; one sister, Mrs. E. J. Smith of West Monroe, La.; seven nieces and two nephews. Funeral services have been announced for Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Vantrease Memorial Methodist Church. The Rev. Marion W. Miller will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Marshall A. Birdwell, the Rev. J. L. Cloud, Dr. Ray Hozendorf and the Rev. George W. Warren. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be James Bradshaw, R. S. Blackwell, Hilton Marlar, Horace Lay, Frank Meeks and J. J. Cottrell. (The El Dorado Times - January 18, 1965)
