Veta Mae Schell, 83, of Bentonville, died Tuesday, April 2, at a Bentonville Nursing Home.
She was born May 23, 1907, at Bentonville to James Newton Soapes and Mada M. Sears Soapes. She was a lifetime resident of Bentonville, a homemaker and a member of the Bentonville Church of Christ. Her husband, Bill Schell, died in September 1983.
Survivors are a niece, Sally Arthurs of Springfield; and two nephews, Jim Soapes of Springfield and Bill Soapes of Goose Creek, S.C.
Funeral is set for 2 p.m. Friday at Burns Funeral Chapel, Bentonville, with J.L. May officiating. Burial is to be in Hart Cemetery. Visitation is set for 5-7 p.m. tonight at Burns Funeral Home, Bentonville. Memorials may be made to the Southern Christian Home, P.O. Box 556, Morrilton, 72110-0556.
