Milton “Hot” McNeely Hemingway, 91, of McGehee, AR passed away Monday, August 1, 2016 at McGehee Hospital. Milton was born on November 16, 1924 in Arkansas City, AR to the late Thomas F. and Mary McNeely Hemingway. He was retired as a Post Master from McGehee Post Office. Milton was a member of the American Legion. He served in the United States Navy and was a Purple Heart recipient. He also served on the McGehee Water Department Board and was a volunteer fireman. Milton loved to hunt and fish. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in McGehee, AR.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Patsy Langston Hemingway. Survivors include his wife, Flora Belle Hemingway of McGehee, AR; son, Rick Hemingway (Beth Holt) of Pine Bluff, AR; daughter, Linda Griggs of Pine Bluff, AR; grandchildren, Leslie Griggs Rhodes (Justin) of White Hall, AR, Susan Griggs Kerr (Greg) of Benton, AR, Ken Griggs of Springdale, AR, Melissa Hemingway Watkins (Barton) of White Hall, AR; great-grandchildren, Garett Rhodes, Lillian Rhodes, Allyson Kerr, Emma Griggs, Anna Kerr, Gracie Watkins, and Ellie Watkins; step-children, Tommy Stepherson of Hot Springs, AR and Marjorie Day (Chuck) of McGehee, AR; step-grandchildren, Sarah Red (Schantz) of Benton, AR, Camille Keller (Aaron) of Little Rock, AR; Courtney Ditmanson (Danny) of Sherman, TX, Mallory Hyatt (Michael) of McGehee, AR; step-great-grandchildren, Whitlee Red, Steven Hudson, Kemp Keller, Cameron Keller, Dayne Ditmanson, Anna Belle Ditmanson, and Hazel Hyatt;
Visitation will be held at 5-7pm Tuesday August 2, 2016 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service in McGehee, AR. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with Father Van Windsor officiating. Burial will be held at McGehee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 246, McGehee, AR 71654 or to your favorite charity.
