Mrs. Virginia Bass Brindley, aged 40, died of a heart attack at her home here Wednesday morning. She was the daughter of I. J. Bass of Bearden, and Mrs. Mamie Bass of Stephens. Mrs. Brindley graduated from the Bearden high school and later attended Henderson State Teachers College at Arkadelphia. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Camden. Besides her mother she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Robert Seifert and Phyllis Hall, and a son, Leland Hall, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; a brother, Jack Bass of Bearden; two sisters, Mrs. Lewis Caton, Jr. of Bearden, and Mrs. Richard Sprow of Camden. Mrs. Brindley spent two and half years overseas in the Army of Occupation before coming to Camden to work for the State Forestry District office here. She was with this work for four years and gave it up two years ago because of ill health. Funeral services will be held at the Bearden Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. Jac Ruffin of Little Rock; Rev. Henry Grubbs of Camden, and Rev. Gerald Fincher of Bearden. Active pallbearers will be her cousins and they are Melvin and Beryl Anthony of El Dorado; Garland Anthony, Jr., of Bearden; Frederick Worthington of Little Rock; Rea Bass of Bearden and George Fultz of Cotton Plant. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Hooper, Jim Rowan, Don Harrell, all of Camden; C. E. Gosden of Stephens; Ocie Harris, Ed Henry, Elbert Summers, Robt. W. Launius and Dr. Thompson, all of Bearden.
