Daughter of Medford & Gerry Welch
August 18, 1963 - January 24, 1965
An 18-month-old El Dorado girl died Sunday morning in a local hospital from tranquilizers taken while she was left alone in a car Friday. The victim was identified as Pamela Kay Welch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wedford Welch, Jr. of El Dorado. Union County Deputy Coroner Ferrell Gresham said the girl took more than 1 of the tablets while her mother was in an attorney's office. The baby was admitted to the hospital late Friday afternoon after she lapsed into a deep sleep. Gresham said ruling in the case is pending upon completion of an investigation. The girl is survived by her parents; a sister, Krystal Kathleen Welch of El Dorado; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Medford Welch, Sr, of El Dorado, and her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Adrene Brewton Drummons of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. John Hargett officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery.
