Mary Alice Burnett Chatham, 94, of Tillar, passed away on November 8, 2015 at Lake Village.
She was a member of First Assembly of God Church and Home Demonstration Club, a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Chatham was born on March 5, 1921 in Drew County and was the daughter of the late Charlie Morrell Burnett and Lettie Wilson Trotter Burnett.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Chatham; two daughters, Bennie Mae Gamble and Latracia Ann Cook; two brothers, Garvin Burnett and Harry Burnett; sister, Mavis Maier; and great granddaughter, Ashley Derryberry Moore.
Survivors are her two sons, James (Barbara) Chatham of Tillar and Glenn (Jackie) Chatham of Tillar; two daughters, Lenn Carr (Cecil) Harvey of Monticello and Cornelia Wells of Lake Village; a special friend, Sonny Inman; one sister, Loraine Allen of Monticello, 18 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation and funeral services are November 10 at First Assembly of God Church in Dumas. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. and funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Rev. Scott Gilbreth will officiate. Burial will be at Jefferson Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Assembly of God Church, Dumas.
Arrangements are by Griffin Funeral Home of Dumas.
