William Ransom a (Col) Seitter
Grace Mae a Emmons

My father joined the Navy, 7-Dec-1941 after he heard of the Pearl Harbor attack by Japan. He was on his way to school at Weatherford Southwest College. The man he was riding with turned his car around and took him to the enlistment center for the Navy in Oklahoma City. He then returned him to College. My father live in Geary, OK, graduated High School from Geary and has gone home for the weekend to see his family. The only F my father made in College was in Math this term, only because his teacher would not let him take his final test early. He was a First Gunner's Mate on PT Boat 59. He was one of many sailors that crossed over the equator in the early days of the war as they went secretly to Gudal Canal. He was also in the South Pacifica and served with Pres. John F. Kennedy. He even volunteered to go on PT boat 153 to rescue then Lt. J.F. Kennedy and his men. On two occasions, my father met his oldest brother, Spurgeon Louis Woodruff, Merchant Marine by accident on the Solomon Island while fighting the Japanesse.
