John H. Primm, 90, died at the home of his son, J.K. Primm, 206 W. 1th St. in Smackover, at 7:35 p.m. Monday following an illness of seven months. He was born Feb. 16, 1874, in Union County and was the son of John and Betty Ballard Primm. He was a retired farmer, a lifelong resident of the county and a member of the Midway Baptist Church. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Tommy Primm of Springhill, La.; four sons, J. K. Primm of Smackover, E. V. Primm and George Primm, both of Rt. 6, and Henry Primm of Camden; two daughters, Mrs. W. A. Byrd of El Dorado, and Mrs. C. L. McFarland of Granite City, Ill.; one brother, Willie Primm of Monette; two sisters, Mrs. Hattie Smith of El Dorado and Mrs. Cathy Compton of Little Rock; 22 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Lewis E. Clark and Rev. John Burton officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. (The El Dorado Times - May 19, 1964)
