Shirley Eloise Allen Johnson, 75, passed away Sunday, March 18, at Southwest Regional Medical Center in Little Rock of complications following a stroke. Her husband of nearly 54 years, Robert T. (Bob) Johnson, preceded her in death.

The daughter of George Henry Allen and Willie Mae (Bill) Edwards Allen, she was born on October 1, 1925 in Marianna.

From her years as co-captain of the high school girls' basketball squad. to her later leadership roles in Cub Scouts, Brownies, and the PTA, she was always active in her community. During the War years, she worked in a defense plant in Memphis, because she wanted to help in the War effort. She also attended Oklahoma University, where she was a member of Alpha Xi Delta.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Marianna. She was a member of and held many offices in the Wesleyan Guild and United Methodist Women. She also was an enthusiastic bridge player.

She relished her roles as wife, mother, and grandmother, and always enjoyed following the activities of her four children and nine grandchildren.

In addition to her late husband, she is preceded in death by her parents. Survivors are a son, Robin Johnson, and daughter-in-law, Pam, of Marianna; three daughters, Stephanie Dixon and son-in-law, Bill, and Camille Bryant, all of Cabot, and Kim Felker and son-in-law, Mark, of Crawfordsville; grandchildren, Erin Dixon Bush and grandson-in-law, Brian, of Little Rock, Paisley Dixon of Fayetteville, Craig Johnson of Jonesboro and Rebecca Johnson of Marianna, Chad Bryant and Adrienne Bryant of Cabot, and Lee Felker, Margo Felker, and Megan Felker of Crawfordsville; three sisters, Sue Holman of Fairbanks, Alaska, George Ann Christenson of Forrest City, and Lanell Lashley of Fayetteville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 21 at First United Methodist Church in Marianna with
officiating. Arrangements will be handled by Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in
