Louise M. Perry, age 91, of Edgemont, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 1, 2010. Effie Louise Marshall Perry was born July 4, 1918, to William Neal Marshall and Mary Willie Foster Marshall in Village, Arkansas. She married William Lee Perry on December 24, 1940.
Louise graduated from high school in Village, Arkansas, and attended Southern State College (now SAU) in Magnolia, Arkansas State Teachers’ College (UCA), and the University of Arkansas. She started her teaching career in Calhoun, Arkansas, and taught in various Arkansas schools for 32 years before she retired.
Her retirement years were spent in Edgemont, Arkansas, enjoying her flowers, birds, and squirrels, attending Holiday Hills United Methodist Church, and being with her friends.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a half-sister, and two half-brothers.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Everly and her husband, Wayne; a granddaughter, Dana Baker and her husband, Gary; a great granddaughter, Hannah Baker; and her special caregiver, Judy Houlsworth.
The family wishes to thank her many friends and neighbors who helped look after her and provided transportation in her later years.
Visitation will be at Holiday Hills United Methodist Church in Greers Ferry from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, with services at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. Dan Brand. Interment will be at Woodland Memorial Park at Edgemont.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Greers Ferry Ambulance Fund or Holiday Hills United Methodist Church.
