ROGERS — Harold H. Ferguson of Rogers, Ark., died Oct. 19, 2015, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville. He was born on a farm near Windsor, Mo., Jan. 6, 1926, to Harman and Mildred Dundas Ferguson.

After attending Windsor public schools he went into the U.S. Navy in 1944, serving oversees in The Philippines. Later, in 1951, he was recalled for service during the Korean conflict. He taught history in Windsor, Warrenton and Webster Groves public schools of Missouri for 26 years. Also, he and his wife had businesses in Mountain Home and Springdale, Ark.

He married Shirley Schowe in Warrenton, Mo., at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church. To this union were born four daughters: Teresa Morrison (Ed), Gail Blech (Larry), Sheryl Ferguson (John Doane), and Roberta Jones. They survive him as well as nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also, one sister, Virginia Helphrey of Centralia, Mo. Shirley preceded him in death in 2010, as did his brother, Gene, in 2009.

He did volunteer work for thrift stores in Rogers, benefiting those in need. His cremains will be interred next to his wife at Rogers City Cemetery on Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at 2 p.m. Honors provided by the Northwest Arkansas Honor Guard. Cremation arrangements by Epting Funeral Home, Bentonville, Arkansas.

ROGERS — Shirley Rae Ferguson of Rogers, Ark., died Nov. 15, 2010, at Northwest Medical Center, Bentonville, Ark. She was born Nov. 24, 1929, in Warrenton, Mo. to Florenz H. Schowe and Charlotte Vogt Schowe.

She attended Warrenton Public Schools and worked as a cashier for A&P and Kroger grocery stores. She later owned Bride and Groom in Springdale, Ark.

She was confirmed and married in Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Warrenton, Mo. She married Harold H. Ferguson in 1950. To this union were born four daughters, Teresa (Ed) Morrison, Gail (Larry) Bleck, Sheryl Ferguson (John Doane), Roberta (George) Jones.

She is survived by her husband; four daughters; six grandsons; three granddaughters; and three great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Dunn; and one brother, Stanley Schowe.

Graveside services to enter her cremains will be at Rogers Cemetery in Rogers, Ark., at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010.

She contributed many hours working in thrift shops. The Salvation Army and Benton County Women's Shelter. She loved quiltmaking, cross-stitch, reedlepoint and jigsaw puzzles.
