Mrs. Nathalee (McGee) Brown, resident of Wynne, Arkansas, departed this life on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Crestpark Nursing Home in Wynne, Arkansas at the age of 79. She was born in Rose Bud, Arkansas on Friday, June 3, 1938, the daughter of the late Floyd McGee and Ruby (Nicholas) McGee.
Nathalee and Joddie Brown were united in marriage on June 18, 1959, and enjoyed 44 years of marriage until Joddie’s passing on May 23, 2003. Mrs. Brown enjoyed quilting, shelling pecans, and making fried pies. She loved the outdoors, and could be found gardening or fishing on many occasions. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ruby McGee; her husband, Joddie Brown; a son, Michael Brown; and three brothers, J.R., Clarence, and Terry McGee.
She is survived by three sons, Dewey Brown and wife, Ella, of Stuttgart, Arkansas, Glen Brown and wife, Jackie, of Palestine, Arkansas, and Joddie Brown, Jr. and wife, Rhonda, of Forrest City, Arkansas; a brother, Bill McGee and wife, Paula, of Wynne, Arkansas; four sisters, Kathalene Vaughan of Lynn, Arkansas, Carmoletta Hicks of Wynne, Arkansas, Jeanie Woodworth of Wynne, Arkansas, and Lola Flaherty of Bakersfield, California; twelve grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at Marianna Memorial Park Cemetery in Marianna, Arkansas with Tracy Webster officiating. Friends may visit at Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home in Wynne, Arkansas from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017.
