FAYETTEVILLE - Betty Jo Karstetter, 88, passed away at her home in Fayetteville, Arkansas on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2016. Betty was born on Sept. 19, 1927, in Marion, Ky.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Flossie Brannan Griggs; her father, Raymond Griggs; and a brother, Michael Griggs.

Betty worked as an auditor in the banking industry and was the first woman president of the American Bankers Association. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. She enjoyed photography, oil painting, dollhouse miniatures, cooking and crafting. She was well loved and loved well.

Betty is survived by daughters, Kathy Karstetter of Fayetteville and Sandy Borden (Larry) of Azle, Texas; sister, Crystal Rowell of Fayetteville; and many other friends and loved ones.

Visitation will be 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Nelson-Berna Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, with burial to follow at Fairview Memorial Gardens under the direction of Nelson-Berna Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Condolences may be given online at www.nelsonberna.com.
