Wife of Myran Frederick Cox, US ARMY, SGT
Jean Pickett Cox, 76, of North Little Rock passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013.
She was born April 24, 1937 in Bee Branch, Arkansas to the late Charles and Belvia Graham Pickett.
She lived all her adult life in North Little Rock, and was a graduate of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in the mid 60's. She was a retired nurse from Baptist Memorial Hospital, Riley's Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home and also did some private duty. She was a member of 47th Street Baptist Church from 1953 until present, served on many committees, was a member of many different Sunday School classes and sang in the Adult choir for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Elvin Pickett; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Alleen Crook Pickett; uncle, Harvey Graham and mother and father-in-law, Mack and Marie Cox.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Myran F. Cox of North Little Rock; two sons, Michael G. Cox of North Little Rock and Robert B. Cox and Lori of Houston, Texas; grandchildren, Ben Cox and Andrea of Austin, Texas, Christopher R. Cox, of Fayetteville, Jessie M. Cox, of Malvern and Hannah Blang, of Houston, Texas; brother-in-law, Nuel B. Cox, of North Little Rock; two nephews, Patrick Pickett and Pam of Springdale and Dr. J. Phillip Pickett and Linda of Blacksburg, Virginia; great niece, Elizabeth S. Pickett, of Springdale and two great nephews, Luke and Matthew Pickett of Blacksburg, Virginia.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m., Wednesday at 47th Street Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday at North Little Rock Funeral Home.
