Velma S. Shirley, 60, of Ozark, Arkansas, died Friday, August 15, 2014 in Ozark.
She was born January 31, 1954 in Ozark to Junior and Lucy Gossage McCartney.
She was a Caretaker and aide at Ozark Nursing Home. She was of the Pentecostal faith, and enjoyed fishing and yard sales.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Mary Smith and a brother Ricky McCartney.
She is survived by her son Randall McCartney of Ozark; her companion Kenney Holloway also of Ozark; two grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Ozark with Reverend Ted Darling officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.
The family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday, August 22nd at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 West Commercial in Ozark.
Serving as honorary pallbearers are James Dahlem, Sandra Myers, Jim Gowing, Willene Gowing, Doris Abercrombie and Dave Roberts.
