1940 - 2016
Evelyn Mae “Evie” Ciampo Huizar, 76, of Redfield, passed away Friday, July 29, 2016.
Born May 10, 1940 at Hackensack, New Jersey, she was a daughter of the late Everett Ciampo and Mildred Catherine Myers Ciampo.
Evie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and caregiver. She was an “army brat”, which gave her a lifelong love of travel. She also had a special bond with her sisters, and would be with them as often as possible. She was always thoughtful and kind to everyone.
An active member of First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff since 1985, she served in many capacities, including infant and youth Sunday school teacher, and as church librarian. She especially enjoyed spending time in the church nursery and had a special way with children, often sending them gifts. She was also a longtime member of the Pine Bluff Art League.
Mrs. Huizar was a claims processor for Progressive Insurance, retiring in 2002.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Huizar was preceded in death by two children, Daniel J. Huizar, Jr. and Christina Vera Huizar.
She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years,
Daniel J. Huizar, Sr.; daughter, Kim Rose and husband David; siblings, Shirley Reiner, Jane Ciampo, Beverly Brussel and Everett Ciampo; grandchildren, Stari Ewert and husband Justin, Zachary Mayfield, Sean Rose, Christopher Rose; great-grandchildren, Milo and Remy Ewert;and many loving nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Memorial services will be Saturday, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Pine Bluff with Brother Harold Mitchell officiating.
Interment will be Monday 10 a.m. in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery at North Little Rock Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
