Jamye Lee Carter, 81, of North Little Rock, went to her heavenly home on October 17, 2014. She was born November 4, 1932 in Little Rock to the late Jamie John and Iva Bachus. She retired from the Social Security Administration and was a member of Gardner Memorial Methodist Church. She loved to travel to the beach and to sew, cook and spend time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, J.L. Bachus (Nadine) of California. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Kenneth James Carter; daughter, Brenda Burks (Ronnie) of Maumelle; son, Gary Carter of Maricopa City, AZ; brother, Dr. Gordon Scott Bachus (Sheryl) of Warrensburg, MO; sister, Jeannie Reffner (Jack) of Sherwood; grandchildren, Matt Burks (Elisha) of NLR, Whitney Blankenship (Greg) of Sherwood, and Carlee and Ryan Carter of Stokesdale, NC; and great-grandchildren, Braxton and Cannon Burks of NLR.
The family would like to thank Dr. Russ Harrington and the nurses and staff at Baptist Springhill Medical Center and the nurses and staff of Arkansas Hospice Care for their loving care and concern.
Services:
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014 from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Gardner Memorial Methodist Church in NLR with a memorial service and celebration of Jamye’s life to follow at 12:30 pm. Inurnment will be at the Arkansas State Veteran’s Cemetery in NLR.
