Otis Densmore Duncan, 71, of Smackover died Wednesday in an El Dorado hospital. He was born in Ouachita County on Nov. 16, 1896. He resided in Smackover over 40 years and was a retired employe of Monsanto Chemical Co. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Cora P. Duncan of Smackover; a son, Marvin D. Duncan of Crossett; two daughters, Mrs. A. M. Reynolds and Mrs. J. L. Murph, both of Smackover; four brothers, Archie Duncan of Texarkana, Ark., Neil Duncan of Benton, Houston Duncan of Fort Smith, and Morris Duncan of Minden, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Lelia Shirey of Minden, La., and Mrs. Mae Mulinax of Kingman, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in Rumph Mortuary Chapel with Rev. Oscar Haire, Rev. Herman Gregsby, and Rev. William C. Huddleston officiating. Oddfellow graveside services will be in Smackover Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Active pallbearers will be William Watson, Otto McCroskey, W. B. Harmon, M. L. Andrews, Jerry K. Primm and Mervin Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. George Warren, Members of Oddfellow Lodge of Smackover and fellow workers on Monsanto Co. (El Dorado Times - January 18, 1968)
