Wife of Clifton Roy Cummings, US ARMY, TEC5, WORLD WAR II
Athena Ann Cummings, age 79 of Jacksonville, passed away on February 25, 2014 in Little Rock, Arkansas.
She was born on November 10, 1934 in Prescott, Arkansas.
Mrs. Cummings was a homemaker who will be remembered for being a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her Lord and Savior and had a caring heart, always making those around her feel loved and welcomed, she also greatly enjoyed cooking for her family and friends.
Ann and her family had many joyful years as residents of Prescott, Arkansas, where her late husband Clifton served as the city electrician; Ann would answer the phones and work along side her husband helping serve and interacting with the citizens of Prescott.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clifton Cummings and her parents Thurman and Elsie Lewis.
Survivors include her three children Vicki Burks of Jonesboro, Debbie Cummings of Sherwood and Russell Cummings of Jacksonville; grandchildren Crystal Hooks, Brant Hooks and wife Rosa, Joshua Cummings and wife Amanda, Jacob Cummings, Justin Cummings and Seth Cummings; great-grandchildren Hannah Hooks, Maddie Hooks, Marley Hooks and Bentley Hooks; sisters Walene Howell, Halcyon Butler, Jauan Lewis and Delia Pittman and one brother Steve Lewis.
Public Services will be held at Meadow's Crossing Apartments on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. Private Family Services will be held at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery in North Little Rock.
Arrangements are by Huson Funeral Home in Sherwood.
