WEBB, John W. - {from Lame} John W. Webb was born Dec. 25, 1855 and died Feb. 18, 1933. When but a small boy his parents moved to this country and here he grew to young manhood. When about 21 years of age he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Scott of Clifty, Ark. To this union were born nine children, six of whom are still living. Two died in infancy and another daughter, Mrs. Rebecca Kelley, died in July 1921. Aug. 1, 1932 the grim reaper again entered the home and took the wife and mother, "Aunt Jane," as she was known by all her friends. "Uncle John" Webb, as he was known, spent most of his life in northwest Arkansas. He moved to this community about 15 years ago. Saturday morning about 10 o'clock God called him home to meet his reward. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. G.C. Bland at the home Sunday afternoon. Burial was at the Webb cemetery Mr. Webb is survived by three sons, Peter and Grover Webb of this place and Dick Webb of near Springdale; three daughters, Versie Webb and Sophie Stanton of here and Mrs. Alma Sherry of near Fort Smith; four brothers, one sister and other relatives and friends. We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the bereaved ones in their dark hour of grief.

WEBB, Sarah J. SCOTT - {from Lame} Sarah J. Scott was born May 5th, 1855. Was married to John W. Webb December 2, 1877; to this union nine children were born - 5 girls and 4 boys; Elizabeth and Thomas dying in infancy, Rebecca Kelly dying at the age of 33, two girls and two boys were present with her when she departed this life August 1, 1923. She was a member of the Church of Christ, obeying the Gospel several years ago under the preaching of John T. Hines at Wesley, Ark. The remains were laid to rest in the Webb cemetery August 2, 1923, Rev. G.C. Bland conducting the funeral services.
