Beth Ann (Prior) Hickman of Bella Vista passed away peacefully at Highland Health & Rehabilitation in Bella Vista on July 13, 2016. Beth was born on December 13, 1938 in Jerome, Arizona to the late Nile Ernest Prior and Virgie Beatrice (Pirtle) Prior.
Beth graduated from Bentonville High School in 1957 and married the love of her life, John Allen Hickman, in Biloxi, Miss. in 1960. Beth was a homemaker, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was actively involved in the NWA Genealogical Society, and the Pea Ridge Historical Society. She enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, and researching her own family genealogy in her spare time.
Beth was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years; her parents; brothers, Kenneth and Richard Prior; and sisters, Norma Lee Smith and Glenda Prior She is survived by sons, Tim Hickman of Lee Summit, Mo., Dennis Hickman of Lewisville, Texas, Daniel Hickman of Rogers; daughters, Nancy Merkey and husband Gary of Centerton, Mary Johnston and husband Tom of Burnside, Ky.; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; five nephews; and a niece.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 15 in Fayetteville National Cemetery.
