Stanley Victor Resimont of Altus, Arkansas passed away Tuesday, August 12, 2014 while in Hospice care at Sparks Hospital.
He was born in Coal Hill, Arkansas October 4, 1914 the son of Elsie (Fowler-Stripling) and Toussaint L. Resimont.
While attending school he worked in the coal mines with his father, an immigrant from Jemeppe, Belgium. He attended college in Russellville, Arkansas and pursued a lifelong career at the Alaskan Air Command Base as the Civilian Personnel Officer in Anchorage, Alaska. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and traveling.
His loving wife Barbara Rowles Resimont survives. Her family, Rhonda Perry and daughter Devi, Susan Cox and daughter Kirsten and son Lee Rowles, along with family friend Yvonne Smith provided companionship and dedicated care in his later years. Also surviving are a daughter, Jeanette (John Raymond) Field of Portage, Michigan and Richard Resimont of Port Orford, Oregon; two granddaughters, Janel (Michael) Grella and Kirsten (Shane) Field of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and a great-granddaughter, Maisie Grella. Stanley was preceded in death by siblings Irene (James Macomber, William Lambert (Inah) Resimont, Jeanne (Jesse) West, and Vada Resimont; stepsister Betty (George) Kranc and stepbrother Frank (Betty) Resimont.
Arrangements are under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home in Ozark. Interment will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Nichols Chapel Cemetery.
