Eugene "Pappy" Elder, 78, of Ozark died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2007, in Ozark. He was born Nov. 19, 1929, in Mount Ida. He was a retired bus driver, a farm laborer and worked for Cargill, Cass Tave Mill, Chrisman Ready Mix.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel in Ozark with burial at Gar Creek Cemetery in Ozark.

He is survived by his wife, Faye; a daughter, Marcella Mefford of Ozark; two sons, Mike Elder of Ozark and Rick Elder of Altus; a sister, Hazel Kreipke of Ozark; three brothers, Bob Elder of Vancouver, Wash., Frank and Charlie Elder, both of Ozark; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Ellison, James Watts, Bob Hurt, Matthew Elder, Dub Wright and Wendy Owens.

Faye Brown Elder, 87, of Ozark, Arkansas died Wednesday, July 22, 2015 in Ozark.
Faye was born in Ozark on April 26, 1928 to James P. and Lucinda J. Allred Brown.

She was a caregiver for Area Agency and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Carl Eugene Elder; four sons, Willard, Howard, Terry and Ricky Elder; a daughter Becky Hedrick; six sisters, Anna Brown, Minnie Canady, Altie Markham, Stella Haislip, Virgie Sutherland and Alpha Gilbert; seven brothers, William, Ollie, Truman, Homer, Onie, Lee, and Seldon Brown.

Faye is survived by her two children Mike Elder and Marcella Mefford of Ozark, one sister Violet Hancock of Cecil, Arkansas, 13 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ted Darling Officiating and burial at Gar Creek Cemetery, Ozark under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark.

Serving as pallbearers; David Ellison, Jackie Patrick, James Watts, Lionel, Robert and Larry Elder, Larry Daugherty, Kenneth Childers, Honorary pallbearers are Ike Tate, Luther Elder and Orval Nichols.
