He (Gene Waldon) was three(3) years old when his daddy died, Gene Waldon lived many years Ozark, Franklin County, AR, he was Insurance man for Globe Life and School teacher.
Obituary Reads:
Gene Waldon, age 89, well known died Sunday, August 4, 2002, at his home. Born Dec. 22, 1912, in Oil City, La., he was the son of William Randolph and Emrna Sewell Waldon. In the early 1920s, the family moved to Ozark where he graduated from high school, then attended the University Of the Ozarks, :Arkansas Tech. University and the University, of .Arkansas, Graduating with a master's degree in chimistry. He taught school until 1951, when he became a field underwriter for the New York Life Insurance Comply and continued in this work .for the next 50 Years. He was active in the Rotary Club, Chamber of Commerce, and numerous other civic functions.He served as a member of the school board for 25 years and was president of the southern region of the National School Board. Association. As president of the board of trustees of Turner Memorial Hospital, he was insmanenta in arranging for its purchase by St. Edward Health System so that Ozark would continue to have a local hospital. He was active in the First Methodist Church of Ozark, where he taught Sunday school for over 40 years. He served in World War II as a commander of a destroyer in the South Pacific Theatre following his graduation from the Coast Guard Academy. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Dean Mallett Waldon; a daughter .}Jo Beth Waldon Johnson of Ozark; a son, Gene Bruce Waldon of Rogers; and four grandchildren, Amber Johnson Landers of Fayetteville, Megan Johnson of Ozark, Laura Waldon of Overland Park,Kan., and Jason Waldon of Hoboken, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and six sisters, Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Ozark First United Methodist Church with Rev.Vaughan . Manden officiating. Burial was at Highland Cemetery, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Joe Powell, Jim Medley, Bill Hudspeth, Harold Dickerson, Jim Mainard, and Artie Clark. Honary pallbearers were Dr. David Gibbons, Ed Milton, L.G. Foster, Cliff Mainard, Flo Shastid, James Hilburn and Art Timmerman. Memorial May be made to the First United Methodist Church, Ozark. Dean
Dean Waldon, 91, of Ozark died Friday, May 20,2016, in Charleston.
She was born Jan. 23, 1925, in Springfield to Samuel Elias and Mary Kellar Hiett Mallett.

She was a retired administrative assistant at the Franklin County Health Department for the Arkansas Department of Health and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ozark.

Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Waldon; and daughter, Jeanne Waldon.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Bruce Waldon and his wife Jan of Bentonville; and her daughter, Jo Beth Johnson and her husband Anthony of Ozark; four grandchildren, Amber Walker, Laura Louderback, Jason Waldon and Megan Johnson; and two great-grandchildren, Grayson Walker and Gus Louderback.

Private family graveside service was held Saturday at Highland Cemetery in Ozark with the Rev. Jeff Jackson officiating under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
