May 10, 1884 - June 16, 1964
Mrs. Ida Merritt, 80, of Smackover died Tuesday about 9 p.m. following a short illness. She was born May 10, 1884, in Calhoun County and had been a resident of Smackover since 1932. She was also a member of the Pentecostal Church. Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ora Lee Lanma, one grandson, Edward Lee Lanma, both of Smackover; one sister, Mrs. Effie Lambert of Norphlet. Services were held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Louann Assembly of God Church with the Rev. J. S. Perry officiating. Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery near Louann under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers were O. L. Weathersby, J. L. Pope, C. E. Williams, O. D. Duncan and C. P. Landrum. (The El Dorado Times - June 18, 1964)
