Memories of Our Beloved Dee
“You can remember her and only that she's gone, Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on”
Detricke LaShay “Dee” Johnson began her earthly journey on January 25, 1974 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. She was the beautiful daughter born to Johnny Lee Jordan (Johnson) and Edith Loretta Jordan. On Wednesday, November 9, 2011 she answered the call from God and made her spiritual transition to her heavenly home.
Dee as she was known to family and friends was a 1992 graduate of Hot Springs High School. In her youth, she was a member of Gethsemane and Union Baptist. As an adult she became a member of Immanuel Christian Fellowship Church where she served in the youth and praise dance ministries. She was a former employee of Popeye's Chicken, Family Dollar Stores and Xerox. Dee loved to cook, work puzzles and volunteer at her girls school.
On October 6, 1993 she married Gregory Walker. To their union two daughters were added. Their marriage dissolved in 2001.
Completing the journey before her is her father; infant brother, Marvin Berthia, Jr; great grandparents, Otis and Vassie Means; grandfather, Jake Johnson
Memories of Dee will forever be etched in the heart of her mother, Loretta Jordan; three daughters, Ashya (17) and Aquarius Walker (15) and Erica Galbert (8); her grandmothers, Lorine Williams all of Hot Springs and Daisy Mae Johnson of Arkadelphia, AR; her grandfather, Elbert Jordan of St. Louis, MO; one brother, Jeson Johnson; two sisters, Unique Williams and TaShara Johnson; her step mother, Charlene Hendrix all of Warren Robertson, GA; two special friends, Eric Galbert and Renea Roberts both of Hot Springs; her aunts and uncles, Velma (Bobby) Davis, Elbert “Billy” Jordan, Audrey Means, McCrary “Uncle Mac” Means, Dorothy Banks and Raymond Brown and extended aunts and uncles; several cousins include a special cousin, Vassie “VV” Akins; several nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Immanuel Christian Fellowship Church 1536 East Grand Ave with Pastor Fred Nicholas officiating. Burial will be in Toones Chapel Cemetery in Tulip, AR. Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements are entrusted to Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services 336 East Grand Ave (501) 623-7664
