ARNOLD, Susan Melrose HUBBART - Mrs. S.M. Arnold died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ida Lynch, near Bestwater on September 14, 1926 at the age of 77 years. Interment took place at the Pleasant Grove cemetery south of Rogers the following day. Two sons, Cleve Arnold of Pocatello, Idaho and Walter Arnold of Pueblo, Colo. and two daughters, Mrs. Ida Lynch of Bestwater and Mrs. Roxie Easley of Pocatello, Idaho survive her. They were all present during her last hours.

(from Lowell) Lowell friends were grieved to hear of the death of Mrs. Rose Arnold which occurred at the home of her daughter near Avoca Monday. Mrs. Arnold lived for many years on her farm one mile west of Lowell and has a host of friends in and near Lowell who were exceedingly sorry to learn of her death.

Susan Melrose Hubbart was born in Benton County, Arkansas, near Lowell, October 8th, 1853, was married to Christopher Columbus Arnold March 17th, 1871, died Sept. 12th, 1926. To this union was born nine children, four of them are living - Ada Lynch, Bestwater,, Okla.; W.W. Arnold, Pueblo, Colo.; Roxie Easley, McCammon, Idaho; C.C.Arnold, Pocatello, Idaho. There are twenty-five grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren. Grandma Arnold was converted in her girlhood days, was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church all her Christian life. Sister Arnold was a devoted Christian; a loving mother. Her husband died and she was left to battle thru life with the family alone and had many hardships but bore them all through the grace of God. Always kind to those around her. Her body was laid to rest in the Pleasant Grove cemetery in the presence of many of her friends and her living children. Funeral services were conducted by the writer who has been her pastor and neighbor for several years. To know her was to love this dear old soul. Eld. L.L. Johnson.
