Katie Mae Hadley-Hart, was born April 5, 1939 to the parents of Steve and Evelyn Williams-Hadley of Kensett, Arkansas.
Her early education began at Kensett, Arkansas elementary school and continued at White County Training School in Searcy, Arkansas where she attended and graduated high school.
Katie gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She first joined Arnold Chapel C.M.E. Church in Kensett, Arkansas. Later she attended and joined St. John's Missionary Baptist Church in West Point, Arkansas where she remained a faithful and devoted member until her passing. She was always eager, willing and ready to work or do whatever was needed for her to do. Katie held many titles which include some of the following most importantly Wife, Mother, Executive Homemaker, and Friend. Other titles include superintendent of Sunday school, Program Committee, Choir member, Kitchen Committee, and Vice-President of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church of Downtown West Point. A member of the White County Training School Reunion Planning Committee, C.W.R. District Choir Member, White County Singing Federated Choir Member, State Minister's Wife Committee, C.W.R. District Tea Director, Registration Secretary for C.W.R. District Congress of Christian Education. Katie was a proud winner of the title of Queen of the C.W.R. District Tea for 10 years. She was also a member of C.W.R. District Traveling Crew which consisted of a group of missionaries of the C.W.R District who attended District, State and National Events. Mrs. Katie was a true missionary. Because every Thursday was spent all day visiting the hospitals, nursing homes, the sick and shut-ins, spreading the Goodness of the Lord. There was no limit to the places she visited sharing her cheerful smile and sometimes even singing a song. Her visits also included Goodwill, Thrift Stores and other types of stores even including the post office.
Katie was united in Holy Matrimony to James Hart of Kensett, Arkansas on December 22, 1957. They were blessed with three healthy children. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband of 55 years, Moderator, Pastor James Hart, daughter Katie Loretha Hart, and a son Aywon Hart both of Kensett, Arkansas. A daughter in law Lillian Jones-Hart of Conway, Arkansas, a son James Hart Jr. preceded her in death. She also leaves a sister Clara Hadley-King of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Three brothers, Roosevelt "Dodie" Hadley (Verlene) of Judsonia, Arkansas, Elves Rayfield Hadley and William Andrew Hadley both of Kensett, Arkansas. She is also preceded in death by three brothers, Curtis Kato Hadley, Charles Preston Hadley Sr., and Steve Hadley. Katie leaves behind numerous relatives which include Aunts, Uncles, Sister in Laws, Brother in Laws, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and many claimed adopted children, her church family and friends.
