Lolita Sedberry Price, 78, of Little Rock, and a long-time resident of Smackover, died Tuesday June 16 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock.

Born on January 31, 1931 in Smackover to Guy and Vienna Carpenter Sedberry, she grew up in Crossett, Arkansas. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Arkansas A&M in Monticello, where she met her husband, Ned Robert Price.

After her marriage, Lolita taught primary grades in Little Rock, El Dorado, and Smackover for thirteen years. She was an avid golfer and past Women’s Club Champion of El Dorado Golf & Country Club and Pine Hills Golf & Country Club. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Smackover where she sang in the choir. After moving to Little Rock in 1998, she became a member of St. James Methodist Church. She remained an active member of the Arkansas golf community, traveling throughout the state to tournaments, making many friends along the way. She was devoted to her family and was an example of selflessness and courage to her daughters and grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Ned Robert Price, her parents, and two older sisters; she is survived by her three daughters, Rebecca Price of Little Rock, Susan Price Drake of Oklahoma City, and Lynn Price Hood of Atlanta, Georgia; three grandchildren, Courtney Rebecca Hood and Eric Price Hood of Atlanta, and Lindsey Compton Drake of Chicago; two sons-in-law Ramsey Drake and Paige Hood; her sister, Jewerline Sedberry Wilson of Houma, Louisiana; extended family, and a host of loving friends.
The family will receive friends at home in Little Rock on Saturday, June 20, 2009 from 1-5 p.m.

Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Smackover, Monday, June 22 at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Smackover Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.

Visitation in El Dorado, Sunday, June 21 from 5-7 p.m. at Young’s Funeral Home

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Home Care Foundation, 2200 S. Bowman Road, Little Rock, AR 72211 or First United Methodist Church, 500 West 7th Street, Smackover, AR 71762.

The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of UAMS and Hospice Home Care in Little Rock for their kind and gentle care of their sweet Grammy.
