MOUNT PLEASANT - Mildred Holowell, 75, of Mount Pleasant died this morning, July 23, 2003, at a Batesville nursing home.
Born May 9, 1928, at Lafferty, she was the daughter of Thomas Boyd and Dona Hall Brooks. She was a homemaker and a member of Lafferty Community Church.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Holowell and Waid Holowell, both of Mount Pleasant; a daughter, Glinnis House of Magness; her mother, of Sidney; three sisters, Reba Collins and Myrtle Henry, both of Greensville, Texas, and Vinnie Edwards of Mount Pleasant; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father; her husband, Jewell Holowell; a son, Michael Holowell; a daughter, Willie Gene Holowell; a sister, Stella Peterson; and a great-grandson, Dillon Miller.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lafferty Community Church with Bruce Qualls officiating. Burial will be in Nail Cemetery with arrangements by Qualls Batesville Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Cecil House, Kirk Miller, Ronnie Holowell, Eric Holowell, Adam Howard and Nathan Caraway.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
