SPRINGDALE — Edith Nellene Parson, 78, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2014, at Saint Francis Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.
Edith was born on June 22, 1936, in Kingston, Ark., to Walter "Doc" and Mary Yingst Campbell. After her mother's death, she was raised by her uncle and aunt, Joe and Ruby Yingst. She was a lifelong resident of Springdale, Ark.
She worked at Ellis' Ice Cream Parlor in the '50s and 16 years at Bear Brand Hosiery. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all.
Edith is survived by her children, Brenda Alison and Rick Herren; four grandchildren, Joshua Alison, Sandra Gibbons, Ann Gibbons, and Taylor Alison; and two great-grandchildren, Caitlin Alison and Aiden Alison; half sister, Geraldine Michaels and half brother, Walter Campbell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Mary; her husband, Dillon Parson; and her sister, Evelyn Donaldson.
Services will be held on Monday, Nov. 3 at 2 p.m. at Oak Grove Baptist in Springdale. Visitation will be today, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m.- 3 p.m. at Sisco Funeral Chapel. Edith will be buried in Elm Springs Cemetery next to her husband.

SPRINGDALE - Dillon G. Parson, 76, of Springdale died Dec. 5, 2004, at Northwest Medical Center. He was born Sept. 13, 1928, in Loy to Carl and Luevada Walker Parson. He moved to Springdale in 1951 from Kingston. He was a member of Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Church, was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Nellene Campbell Parson of the home, to whom he was married Oct. 15, 1983; two sons, Kenny Parson and wife Patricia of Springdale and Rick Herren of San Diego; one daughter, Brenda Alison Gibbons and husband Phillip of Springdale; one brother, J.C. Parson of Bentonville; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Loy Counts and the Rev. Roy Cain officiating. Burial will be in Elm Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Josh Alison, Marty Brown, Gerald Frisby, Phillip Gibbons, Jason Morris and Dwayne Tevehaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be Al Alberti, Bill Bradley, Jose Compse, C.L. Grigg and Clayton Hillian.
