Maxine H. Sims, age 78 of Benton, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009. She was born April 24, 1931 in Conway, Arkansas to the late Brinkley Hawk and Ellen Irby Hawk. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Margaret Ann King, Betty Harrison and Dorothy Mae Hawk.

She was a member of the “Cornerstone Assembly of God” in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Maxine retired after 32 years from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.


Maxine is survived by her husband, Reverend Bill A. Sims; one daughter, Jamie Ellen Sims Burton and husband Joseph H. of Benton; one granddaughter, Jaden Ellianna “Miss Ellie” Sims Burton; and one sister, Marian Abernathy of South Carolina.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Roller Owens Funeral Home Chapel, (501-791-7400) with Doctor Ted Edmondson and Reverend Ryan Atwood officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 P.M.
at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 -7:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
