Daisy Alma Ethridge.
98 years of a life well lived.
On Feb. 15, 2011, Daisy skipped across to the other side to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She died peacefully in Mountain View, after a long and beautiful life that began Jan. 14, 1913, in Mayflower.
Her parents, Christopher Columbus and Mary Magdalene Green, gave her hand in marriage to Bernard Charles Ethridge in 1933, and it remained so until Bernard's death in 1979. After several years as a widow, Daisy married Otis Coker until his death.
Daisy had eight siblings (two surviving) and was preceded in death by her three loving children, Bernard Charles "Sonny" Ethridge, Jr., Betty Elwanda Baker and Doris Jean Deeter, all of Arkansas. She was lovingly called "Mimi" by her eight grandchildren (seven surviving); 14 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Daisy was a member of First Assembly of God in Conway, and a volunteer at Conway Memorial Hospital. It was appropriate that her name was "Daisy." She was an avid and gifted flower gardener, and was famous for her prized iris and daylily collection. Most likely, she has already started breaking ground for the finest daylily garden in heaven!
Services will be held on Saturday at Roller McNutt in Conway. The memorial celebration is from 3-4 p.m. with her grandson, Greg Deeter officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.
Serving as pallbearers will be Cody Quattlebaum, Andy Baker, Jonathan Baker, Michael Baker, Justin Baker, and Cedar Ethridge.
