Eula Exer Stevens, 91, of Conway passed away Sunday (May 4, 2003) at her home.

She was born April 6, 1912, in Wooster to the late Augustus Lawrence and Temperance Rebecca Shaw Glover. She taught elementary school for over 30 years in Arkansas and in Washington State, retiring in 1974.

She was the widow first of James Lester Blackwell, in 1939, and of Edgar Harrison Stevens, in 1999.

She was preceded also by a son, Eddie Lawrence Stevens, born and died Nov. 29, 1942; by her five brothers, Roy Doyne, James Arville, John Henry, Alan Lawrence, and Coy Lee Glover; and by her only sister, Beula Elzora Fuller.

She is survived by a son, Donald Harry Stevens of Reading, Pa.; a daughter, Charlotte Rebecca Symms of Davis, Calif.; and four grandsons, Malcolm Wade Harrison Stevens, Daniel Loren Symms, Jason Eric Stevens, and Lawrence Conrad Symms; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was educated at Central Baptist College, Conway, and other schools, and received a B.A. in education from Pacific Lutheran University, Parkland, Wash. She was a lifelong Baptist and taught Sunday School most of her adult life. At her death she was a member of First Baptist Church, Wooster, of which her parents were founding members.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 10, at the First Baptist Church in Wooster with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway.

Edgar Harrison Stevens, 91, of Greenbrier died Monday (June 14, 1999) at Conway Regional Medical Center.

Born Dec. 12, 1907, in Conway, son of the late Elmer H. and Charlotte Shillcutt Stevens, he was a retired science teacher. He had taught in schools in Arkansas and Washington, and was a member of the Retired Teachers Association of both states. He was a World War II Army veteran and received the Bronze Star. He was a member of Wooster First Baptist Church and the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors are his wife, Eula Glover Stevens; a son, Donald H. Stevens of Reading, Pa.; a daughter, Charre Symms of Parker Ford, Pa.; a brother, John H. Stevens of Chelan, Wash.; two sisters, Floy LaFerney and Janette McElroy Neff, both of Conway; and four grandsons.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Wooster First Baptist Church with the Rev. Phillip Drennan and Dr. J.C. Myers officiating.

Pallbearers will be Wade Stevens, Jason Stevens, Dan Symms, Larry Symms, Gene Whitley, John Lane, Jerry Glover and John Lewis Glover. The deacons of the church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
